Does a Flea dream?
Is it an unimportant question
Does a Flea dream? Or not
A minute subcategory in philosophy
If the cynic incensed at this banality
Could give respite to disbelief
What does a flea dream of
Who hears him if he wakes up screaming
Does he mutter in his sleep
After dark does he process a day's joys and griefsDoes he dream of the Gods...
Is it dependent on our flea being organic
Or would it affect his night and day dreaming capability
If fleas were designed to be in totality,
Sentients and mechanicCan he know what dreaming is?
Does he miss his girlfriends
Does he still long for his first love leaps
Has he hopes for the many, many, many, young great-great-grand-fleas
He wishes that will one day bounce on his arcadian, rusty kneesWhat would Helen would make of it?
I think she'd wonder:
Does a flea's sleepy head just lust
For the splendid taste of blood
An isotonic energy replacement
Drawn from beneath a fleshy skin
Is perhaps not the fondest of subconcious chews,
Especially if the jaws were jagged saws...
And the skin belonged to me or you.
